  • 2 oz. Junmai Sake
  • 3 oz. Orange juice
  • ½ oz. grenadine

Preparation time: ~ 1 minute

How to make it:

  1. Fill a glass with ice
  2. Add the sake and orange juice

  • 1 cup Dry sake (such as Sho Chiku Bai’s Junmai-shu/ nama sake)
  • 2 tbsp lemongrass (packed and chopped with tips reserved for optional garnish)
  • 1 tbsp ginger root (packed and chopped)
  • 1 tbsp organic, blonde cane sugar
  • 1 oz. strained Meyer lemon juice (or 1 tbsp. regular lemon juice plus 1 additional tbsp. grapefruit juice)
  • 6 tbsp. strained pink grapefruit juice (strained to remove the seeds)

Preparation time: 30 minutes – 1 hour

How to make it:

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the lemongrass, ginger, and sugar
  2. Muddle the ingredients together vigorously until they are well broken down or about 30 seconds
  3. Add the lemon juice into the mixture and muddle
  4. Add the grapefruit juice and sake
  5. Strain the mixture into a jar or cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, while pressing on the solids to extract its flavors
  6. Strain into serving or wine glasses filled halfway with ice
  7. Garnish with a lemon grass tip and serve

  • 2 slices grapefruit
  • 2 dashes of green tabasco sauce
  • 3 oz. sake
  • 0.5 oz. lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz. agave nectar
  • 1 grapefruit slice and fresh mint sprig, for garnish (optional)

Preparation time: 2 minutes

How to make it:

  1. Combine the grapefruit and tabasco in a shaker

  3. Place in the freezer until frozen solid

  • 1 gallon of water
  • 10 raspberry-flavored tea bags
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ sake (more or less as needed depending on the company)

Preparation time: an hour

How to make it:

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil
  2. Once boiled, turn off the heat
  3. Add the teabags and allow to them to steep for 3-5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Zucchini water (shred and squeeze two zucchinis to obtain ¼ cup)
  • 2 tbsp lemon simple syrup
  • ¼ cup sake

Preparation time: 5 minutes

How to make it:

  1. Make zucchini water by shredding two small zucchinis with a grater
  2. Place the grated zucchini in a cheesecloth and squeeze out the liquid
  3. Combine the liquid, lemon simple syrup, and sake in a shaker with ice
  4. Shake well
  5. Strain the mixture into serving glasses

  1. Combine 8 parts sake to 2 parts lemon tea (be flexible and experiment)

  • 1 sprig of mint, plus another for garnish

How to make it:

  1. Combine the strawberry, lime juice, and simple syrup in a mixing glass
  2. Muddle the ingredients until the strawberry is completely dissolved
  3. Add the mint leaves and using a muddler, gently tap it only for 5 times to prevent it from tasting bitter
  4. In another glass, combine the sake and ice
  5. Stir until fully incorporated
  6. Pour the strawberry mixture into the glass with sake and ice
  7. Finish off with seltzer and a garnish of mint and strawberry before serving

2. Cherry Sake Cocktails

  • 2 small handfuls frozen dark sweet cherries, thawed (about 2/3 cup)
  • 4 shots of sake (about ¾ cup)
  • ginger ale
  • a couple of drops of red food coloring (optional)

  1. Peel the fresh ginger using a vegetable peeler
